Why IR ?

Unlike traditional saunas which heat the external space around you, the heat from an IR sauna surrounds and penetrates deeply into your joints, muscles and tissues. Breathing is also a lot easier and healthier because the air temperature is not heated to the same degree as other types of saunas. As a result, our infrared sauna provides a more comfortable experience that relieves a wider range of health concerns compared to traditional saunas. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare for a session?

Before any sauna session make sure you are well hydrated for maximum benefit and detoxification. An hour before your sauna try and drink at least 250mls of water.

What should I wear?

Whatever is most comfortable for you. This could be a bathing suit, shorts and a tank, or nothing at all. A Towel will be provided for you to use in the sauna if you wish.

Do you provide showers? 

Our facilities at The Wellness Studio is private & secluded, includes change room space as well as a Balinese style outdoor shower.

How often should I sauna?

Research shows that regular sessions will have more benefit and a greater result on your health. We recommend that you enjoy the sauna as often as you like! It is a great complement to your exercise routine, and also perfect for a rest or recovery day. Find what works best for you and your body’s needs.

Can I sauna with a friend?

Absolutely! Sauna alone or share, our detox box accommodate up to 2 people, and we have multiple payment options available. Please note that our online system cannot make reservations for more than one person, but you are still more than welcome to bring a friend.

Who shouldn’t use the sauna?

If in doubt as to the advisability of using the infrared sauna, consult with your physician. Do not use if pregnant, have serious inflammation, a fever, a communicable disease, haemophilia, or are intoxicated or dehydrated. You may also want to consult with your physician regarding medications, if you are elderly, have cardiovascular or chronic conditions, insensitivity to heat, or a condition that affects your body’s ability to sweat.

Our IR Sauna…

Our IR Sauna was designed to deliver the health benefits while ensuring it’s users a safe and quality experience. The far IR heaters in our sauna are the only ones on the market that combine the high IR output of ceramic, with the long wave IR heat of carbon to produce a sauna session that is high in quality. Within minutes of sitting in our sauna you can really feel the difference. The carbon-based heating system is also the only one to eliminate virtually all presence of EMF (Electromagnetic fields). 

What to expect…

  • Pre session - hydrate with at least 250ml (one glass) of water to prepare your body for an increase in core body temperature and loss of fluids through sweating.

  • Arrive to your appointment on time

  • What to wear: bathers, light clothing or nothing - it’s a private area for you to enjoy.

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the session. Water will be provided, and you will have access to a water fountain to refill your personal bottle if you choose to bring it.  

  • After the 40 minutes, enjoy cooling down in the outdoor shower facilities to balance your body temperature, remove toxins and close pores.

  • Leave your towels where they are when you finish - we will collect them after your session.

  • Post session - drink at least 700mls of water

  • To have a lasting positive effect of your health, scientific research suggests 3-4 sessions a week.
